The Kickers Kids program has been developed to meet the needs of all players, not just an elite few. Our program is structured by age group and is designed to improve player abilities each year, in order to prepare for the transition to Recreational (U9-U10) and then Competitive (U11-U19) soccer.
Kickers Kids programming is led by Stephanie Paine, with assistance from several other coaches, who work very closely with the players to make sure they develop their skills properly, and make progress from season to season.
Kickers Kids does not designate kids to a certain team with a certain coach; instead, players will play all of the time with a variety of teammates for each game and practice.
Game day includes four games of 10 minutes each. Parents are required to attend and participate in all games and practices, and to be present on game day. Additionally, parents are asked to help players learn the rules of the game, and to be encouraging always. No coaching or instructing on tactics or positioning is allowed, except by coaches.
Programming is split into two age groups: Family Skills, for kids ages 3-5 who are brand new to soccer; and Micro Soccer, for kids ages 5-8 who have had some soccer instruction. The fall season runs from early September through the end of October, and the spring season runs from late March through mid-May.
Family Skills players train one time per week for 1 hour; Micro Soccer players train twice per week for an hour. Each program will have 4, 10-minute games on Saturdays.
Additionally, for Micro Soccer players in their final year of programming we offer a spring Recreational team where players play “up” one age group at the U9 level in the Front Range League.
