ADULT SOCCER

About the league:

  • The Denver Kickers Sports Club’s mission is to promote the sport of soccer through not only education but involvement as well. To support that tradition, the Kickers Soccer League (KSL) was created to provide a competitive, respectful, and friendly option for adults to continue playing a sport that they have enjoyed most of their life, as well as invite new players to the sport. The league was created in 2007 with three Over-35 divisions. Over the years, the league has evolved into the current version with three age divisions – Over-35, Over-45, and Over-60.
  • The league is sanctioned at both the state and national level.
    • US Soccer at the national level.
    • Colorado Soccer Association (CSA) at the state level.
  • The league has spring and fall seasons.
    • The seasons are scheduled for eight games, weather permitting.
    • Weather canceled games will be rescheduled to the end of the season if possible.
    • There will be a bye-week if the division has an odd number of teams.
  • The league has three age divisions.
    • Over 35: 11v11 full field, 90-minute games.
    • Over 45: 11v11 full field, 90-minute games, no slide tackles.
    • Over 60: 8v8 small field, 60-minute games, no offsides, no slide tackles.
    • Over 35 and over 45 are allowed 20-player game day rosters.
    • Over 60 is allowed 16-player game day rosters.
  • Teams have a limited number of age allowance players.
    • Over 35 is allowed three players between 30 and 35 on each game day roster.
    • Over 45 is allowed three players between 40 and 45 on each game day roster.
    • Over 60 is allowed two players between 58 and 60 on each game day roster.
    • To be clear, this is total allowance on the game day roster, not on the field.
  • The games are played on fields in Golden.
    • Denver Kickers Clubhouse (16776 W 50th Ave., Golden)
    • Long Lake Regional Park (17850 W 64th Ave., Golden)
    • Fairmount Park (5340 Quaker St., Golden)
    • Camp George West (1220 Kilmer St., Golden)
  • The league follows the FIFA Laws of the Game.
    • One exception is that we allow substitutions at all stoppages in play.
    • The referee may disallow a substitution if it stops an opponent’s quick restart.
    • The league allows the referee to utilize the “Sin Bin” for five minutes for dissent.
  • The league allows unlimited substitutions with the referee’s permission.
