The Denver Kickers Maypole Dance

Join us for a vibrant evening of tradition at the Denver Kickers Maypole Dance. This annual celebration centers around the Maibaum (Maypole) ceremony, a festive ritual that welcomes the arrival of spring. The highlight of the night is the Bandltanz, where blue and white ribbons are woven into the iconic diamond pattern of the Bavarian flag—a striking display of heritage and community teamwork.

Our Schuhplattlers will kick off the festivities with their rhythmic, high-energy performances, but the real magic happens when you join the circle. We are inviting our guests to grab a ribbon and participate in the winding of the pole. Under the guidance of our dancers, you will help weave the intricate design while enjoying live music, authentic food, and cold drinks. It is the perfect way to experience Gemütlichkeit—that classic German feeling of warmth and belonging.
